Job Overview: As an Interconnection Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the interconnection projects within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of interconnection projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, and managing project timelines, budgets, and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, possess excellent communication skills, and have a deep understanding of interconnection processes and regulations.


The Interconnection Project Manager will work closely with the Project Developers during the Development phase and Project Delivery Project Managers and subsequently lead assigned projects across the portfolio from Late-Stage through Construction along with Interconnection & Transmission, Performance Engineering, Owner’s Engineer (OE), Lenders Independent Engineering Representative (IE), General Contractors (EPC), Permitting Entities, specialty and task specific Contractors and key stakeholders.

Preferred candidates will have experience working with interconnection processes of Independent System Operators (ISO's) like PJM and MISO. Responsibilities for this position are listed below, but are not limited to:



Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for interconnection projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and understood.
  • Manage the execution of interconnection projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues to ensure successful project delivery.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in interconnection projects, including utilities, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay up-to-date with interconnection regulations and requirements set forth by regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines throughout the duration of interconnection projects.
  1. Resource Management:
  • Allocate resources effectively to support the successful implementation of interconnection projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure adequate staffing and resources are available to meet project needs.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and management, highlighting progress, issues, and risks.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the energy or utilities industry.
  • Deep understanding of interconnection processes, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex project requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledge of the PJM and MISO Tariffs and Manuals, and ability to learn RTO process.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing interconnection projects for renewable energy or distributed generation systems.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in interconnection project management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
