Position Overview:
The Vice President of Engineering (Java & Kotlin Specialist) will be a strategic leader responsible for guiding and scaling our engineering organization. This role requires a visionary with extensive experience in Java and Kotlin to drive our technical direction, oversee the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions, and ensure alignment with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and strategic insight to steer our engineering initiatives effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Define and implement the engineering strategy in alignment with company goals and objectives.
Collaborate with executive leadership to drive the vision and roadmap for technology and product development.

Team Management and Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee recruitment, performance management, and professional growth of engineering staff.

Technical Oversight:
Provide expert guidance on best practices and architectural decisions in Java and Kotlin development.
Ensure the engineering team follows industry standards and methodologies to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality software solutions.

Project and Product Management:
Manage the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Work closely with product management and other stakeholders to prioritize and align engineering efforts with business needs.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and practices to enhance engineering processes and product capabilities.
Evaluate and integrate emerging trends and technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Budget and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective operations.
Optimize processes and workflows to improve productivity and reduce technical debt.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on Java and Kotlin development.
Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, with a track record of successful project delivery and team management.
Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices in Java and Kotlin.
Experience with Agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices is a plus.
