What you will do

The Senior Technical Project Manager will oversee the delivery of complex technology products and services across lines of business, including financial services, insurance, and other industries. In this role, you will create strategies to manage the timely and successful delivery of products and services, requiring top-notch skills in asset management, people management, service management, and project management. The Senior Technical Project Manager must bring strong leadership and communication skills in technical and non-technical contexts; you will manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e., engineers, product managers, and others) and build customer relationships throughout service delivery. With the complex nature of technology products in financial services, the Senior Technical Project Manager must approach product and service delivery challenges with a strong problem-solving mindset. As the continuous improvement of service and product delivery is crucial for long-term success, the Senior Technical Project Manager should also bring a high level of acumen for business analysis, risk management, and strategic planning.

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide technical leadership to project teams, collaborating with technical team members to identify and resolve technical issues, and providing guidance on technical solutions.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues associated with the project, proactively taking steps to mitigate risks and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, communicating project status, risks, and issues clearly and effectively. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, building trust and credibility.
  • Manage and motivate project teams, providing direction and guidance to team members, and resolving conflicts as they arise.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring that changes are properly documented, approved, and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards, managing quality assurance processes, and conducting quality assurance reviews as needed.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, and other project-related documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and methodologies, and implement improvements as appropriate.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting open communication and effective teamwork among project team members.
  • Provide technical expertise to project teams, helping to identify and resolve technical challenges and providing guidance on technical solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that expenditures are within budget, and managing budget variances as they arise.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, ensuring that customer needs are met and that customer satisfaction is high.
  • Provide regular project reports and analytics to executive leadership, highlighting project progress and identifying opportunities for improvement.


Requirements and technical skills

  • BS or BA degree, preferably in computer science or information systems
  • 7 years of overall professional experience in IT solution delivery and support
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • A high level of accountability and teamwork skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and a passion for solving problems
  • Flexibility to handle a dynamic environment with multiple priorities in play at once
  • Payments or Banking experience preferred
