Vernis & Bowling is seeking an experienced Paralegal with civil litigation experience in property and casualty/bodily injury matters.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation.


Candidates must have experience in performing paralegal tasks going from the referral of new case through a jury trial. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, scheduling, preparing discovery and medical summaries, maintaining case files, and completing other reasonable requests as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Trial preparation
  • Gather and organize evidence and documents
  • Assist with case management
  • Draft pleadings, motions and discovery
  • Organize and electronically file pleadings
  • Coordinate calendars and schedule mediations, hearings and depositions
  • Phone calls with clients, adjusters and medical providers
  • Other administrative duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Broad Civil Litigation Experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills necessary.
  • Experience tracking time for billing purposes
  • 3-5 years' as Litigation Paralegal
  • Familiar with both Florida State and Federal Court filings
