The Manager of Quality and Safety will act as the primary liaison for comprehensive quality assurance at AMCO Proteins and its sister company American Custom Drying.


Job Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with operating conditions, HAACP, Safety, Food Safety, cGMP, and CAPA.
  • Analyze QA and QC data per customer specifications.
  • Manage the end-to-end customer complaint process.
  • Oversee Quality Teams (HACCP, Internal Audit, SQF) and coordinate the environmental program.
  • Handle defect classification and recommend product disposition on non-compliance reports.
  • Supervise plant sanitation and pest control programs.
  • Execute QA procedures, serving as the vital link between the plants and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage audits, facilitate employee training, create/maintain SOPs and SSOPs, and provide effective oversight of Quality Operations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in Quality and Food Safety
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within quality management, preferably in the food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQF, HACCP, cGMP, PCQI, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of organic certification process preferred.
