Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in the financial health of the organization by preparing and reviewing complex financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss reports. This position involves analyzing financial trends, costs, and commitments to forecast future financial performance, while advising management on resource utilization and budgeting assumptions. The Senior Accountant also guides junior staff in their daily activities and ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Consultation: Collaborates with management to document and manage financial data across various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Accounting Activities: Executes a range of accounting tasks to maintain control over the organization’s financial resources and prepare necessary financial reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepares detailed balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and management reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analysis and Forecasting: Analyzes costs, revenues, and financial commitments to inform future revenue and expense predictions and assist in budget development.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Follow established procedures to accurately record and maintain financial transactions.
  2. Ensure accuracy in ledger account entries to reflect the organization’s financial position.
  3. Collect, compile, and analyze financial information to prepare timely and precise reports, including regulatory filings.
  4. Assess current financial commitments and expenditures to project future financial trends.
  5. Provide expert accounting advice to managers, assisting in budget development and financial management.
  6. Lead complex projects, such as compliance reporting, audits, and specialized financial studies.
  7. Analyze actual costs and evaluate cost records to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  8. Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines in all processes, procedures, and workflows.

This role is critical for driving the financial strategy and ensuring the organization's long-term sustainability through effective financial management and reporting.
