Mechanical Estimator/Project Manager

A leading construction company is seeking a Mechanical Estimator/Project Manager. This role involves estimating project costs and, upon contract award, overseeing the project's execution, including managing safety, Superintendents, Project/Office Engineers, the Owner, and public interactions.


Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the estimation of mechanical (e.g., water treatment plants, pump stations) and civil project bids.
  • Collaborating with other Estimators to finalize estimates, interpreting bid documents, drawings, and specifications, and understanding the production and resources needed for mechanical, civil, utility, and structural work.
  • Preparing cost estimates, evaluating subcontractor and supplier proposals, and communicating with upper management during bid development.
  • Leading all aspects of project planning including project scheduling, resource allocation, project finance administration, safety and quality management, and the development of value-engineering solutions.
  • Hold accountability for project profitability and shall effectively manage client service, relationships, and expectations to ensure successful project delivery.


Requirements:

  • Must have experience in water, wastewater, and pump stations projects involving the installation of new or replacement of process piping systems and equipment
  • 8+ years of proven, combined experience in both estimating and management of mechanical projects (experience on NYCDEP projects and civil knowledge a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate bid developments with upper management
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office Suite and HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software
