-Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Civil Engineering
-0-3 years of prior relevant experience: working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company, performing design engineering -OR could have: strong construction background, design work, civil engineering, electrical experience and programming experience
-Strong previous experience with AutoCad or MicroStation Design software
-Interest in developing construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards
Job Description
A company is looking for a Distribution Design Engineer to join their team. This engineer will aide in the upgrades of a major energy providers distribution grids. They will be in charge of scheduling and developing construction plans for the project work. This person will create work packages, create construction plans, bill material and will be in charge of the scope or work schedule. This person will be in charge of owning their own field work where they will be taking notes, pictures, measurements and will ultimately be in charge of the designing the project construction plans. The work will be developed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, Work Management Systems (WMS), and other client systems. The project work will require performing engineering calculations that may include: structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices. This position will be a remote/hybrid role. This person will be working approximately two days from home and spending three days traveling to client sites in the Pennsylvania and Rhode Island area.
Pay Range: $29.00-$35.00 depending on experience level Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law
