ASB - is looking for a Senior / Expert level Blender 3D Generalist / Animator to join our global team.

Our studio is a global multifaceted animation studio, covering a large spectrum of industries. It is a fast-paced environment with a unique streamlined workflow, catering for a huge number of global agencies and studios.

The role will be to deliver high quality 3D animations, renders and AE - VFX across the huge range of projects we cover. Including our multiple styles of Animatics, boardomatics and cinematics.

The role will also include building a training program for our global teams to learn and adopt Blender. Predominantly the role will be remote (from within the US -ET time zone only) but will also include travel over to our Studio in Bangkok to further develop the training program.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, keen to learn our unique workflow and bring with them a wealth of experience to grow within the team. Ideally from a broadcast background who understands the subtleties of producing realistic CG animations and environments. As a generalist, you will have worked across multiple areas including Animation, VFX, lighting, rigging and live edit sessions.

Predominantly you will work on previz within the advertising industry but also regularly working across broadcast commercials and R&D project utilizing game engines (unreal).

 

Responsibilities/ Requirements:

·        Expert level of understanding of Blender, with a generalist who is knowledgeable in most of the functions of blender. 3DS Max knowledge / experience is advantageous.

·        Highly motivated, being able to work both independently and within a team.

·        Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

·        Solid understanding of key animation principles 2D+3D.

·        A keen interest to learn new plugins and processes.

·        Ability to brief and instruct another generalists/animators.

·        Ability to thinking on your feet to solve animation/lighting or technical problems.

·        Effectively implementing revisions on briefs from our in-house Designers and Directors.

·        Senior level knowledge of texturing, lighting, and rendering with Blender.

·        Strong sense of design for visual details and realism

 

Education / Experience

·        Bachelor’s degree / Masters in Animation/ 3D visualization or equivalent.

·        Minimum SEVEN years animation experience having worked in at least one studio.

 

Additional Key Skills

·      Previous experience using python in Blender

·        Experience working with 3DS Max

·        Experience using/creating VFX in Blender

·        Previous experience working with Mocap data and rigging.

·        Experience of particle sims / liquid sims is an advantage.

·        Experience with games engines particularly Unreal.
