The Architect Manager at Resia plays a pivotal role in collaboration and coordination, working closely with the internal team comprising the Senior Architect Manager, Engineering managers, Development managers, and Project executives. In addition, this role involves extensive interaction with a range of external consultants, including External Engineers of Record, Civil Engineers, and Landscape architects, and corresponding with city officials to acquire relevant approvals for design documents.
The core responsibilities of the Architect Manager include overseeing and directing various project architectural design elements, effectively coordinating with external consultants, and thoroughly reviewing construction documents. They are instrumental in obtaining regulatory approvals and participating in squad meetings. The role also involves problem-solving in collaboration with the Resia Product Development and Innovation department, supporting the Senior Architect Manager, Director of Design, and Director of Development.
As an integral member of the Development Squad, the Architect Manager represents the Design department, working alongside colleagues from the Development and Construction teams. This collaborative approach is crucial to the success of Resia projects. The position entails managing approximately 3-4 concurrent projects at different Design development and construction stages.
Responsibilities
  • Essential Functions Statement(s): Project Coordination & Management Attend Squad meetings to provide Design-related information and communicate with relevant Resia project team members, including Financial, Procurement, Development, and Construction Personnel
  • Review architectural design drawings for applicable laws, regulations, and building code compliance.
  • Work with the Director of Design, Senior Architect Manager, Development Managers, and Project Executives.
  • Coordinate projects by organizing coordination meetings with external Engineers and Consultants.
  • Produce coordination meeting notes to distribute to all external consultants.
  • Coordinate Resia approval of Architectural design decisions.
  • Assist and Coordinate Design-related aspects of projects, including interior finish schedules, lighting specifications, signage packages, unit finish selections, and outdoor furniture selection and layout referencing Resia standards.
  • Assists in evaluating consulting proposals from external consultants.
  • Assist the Development Manager in regulatory review and obtaining building permits.
  • Coordinate with the Architect Of Record (AOR) to Sign and seal architectural Drawings.
  • Track project-specific design changes and work with Innovation to update the company Design library as needed.
  • Assists the Construction Administration team in responding to and reviewing Architectural related RFI and submittals.
  • Support Senior Manager in any task asked, being a reliable assistant, lightening their workload, and contributing to overall team success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Construction, Architecture, and related fields
  • Licensed Architect preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IBC, FHA, ANSI, and relevant code requirements typical for multi-family projects
  • Knowledge of City and County governments and state health departments regarding the review and approval process for regulatory submittals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of Microsoft Project, BIM360, ACC, and Bluebeam.
  • Project management skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to travel to other markets.
