Associate Quality Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Associate Quality Engineer to work closely with multiple Chief Enterprises departments, Customers, and Vendors to qualify and maintain new and existing products and production processes. The individual in this position has a broad knowledge of wire Harness products and industry practices and acts as a technical point of contact for internal and external communication regarding quality requirements for product launch and validation.
The Associate Quality Engineer is responsible for APQP, Validation, Production Process Launch, and Continual Improvements. There will be heavy emphasis for this role in the ability to launch and maintain product quality from a manufacturing perspective. This position is for independently self motivated and flexible engineers with strong Project Management, Quality Management, and Manufacturing Process Design capabilities rooted in wire harness industry experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support Clients, Business Development, Sales, Design, Engineering, with Quality Engineering Services.
- Responsible for Client Product Data Management recording and maintenance including Quality Specifications, PPAP Documents, NCRs, CARs
- Support Clients, Chief Teams with Quality related Project Management through the APQP process, PPAP process, and Production Launch
- Participates in safety activities, audits and training. Follow all safety rules and regulations per the Employee Handbook. Understands that safety is the responsibility of every employee.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering. The Ideal candidate will have experience in or as a manufacturing engineer, prior to or in collaboration with their Quality Engineering experience. We are not looking for a pure metrology technician. Preference will be given to Wire harness experience. Plastic Injection Molded Parts industry experience is welcome. 1-2 years experience in project management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related wire and plastics manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in ISO 9001 required. Preference given to AIAG, IATF, or similar quality standards.
- Familiar with manufacturing and quality methodologies and best practices, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO compliance, Kanban, Five Whys, etc.

- High Project Management Aptitude with excellent organizational and prioritizing skills. High Attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Aptitude in Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering industry processes (electrical, plastics, metal fabrication)
- Technical understanding and knowledge in Production of wire harnesses with experience in Injection Molded Plastics, Tool & Fixture, Gaging Design & Procurement
- Ability to present oneself as well as the company with Skilled Professionalism; Interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve and maintain composure in moderate stress situations
- Expert Understanding of ISO and other various Quality Management Systems. (AIAG, IATF knowledge very welcome)
- Functional Understanding of ERP systems (Netsuite Preferred, other ERP systems experience welcome)
- Expert Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings (GD&T proficiency required)
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs, internet literate. Extensive Knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat. (Google workspace experience very welcome)
- Familiarity with Teleconferencing (Google Meets, Skype, Go to Meeting,...)
- Fulfill tasks to support Continual Improvement Projects: NCRs CARs, ECN/ECO (Engineering Change Notification/Order) Process planning and execution
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
- Willingness to travel for sales and customer calls in North America regularly; international travel may be required on occasion.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
- Ability to understand Spanish is a plus.
