Linux Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Linux Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting Linux environments, ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and security. This position requires hands-on experience with Linux server administration, system integration, automation, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) to support critical business functions.
  • Monitoring & Performance: Ensure high availability of Linux systems by monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and tuning configurations for optimal performance.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate recurring system tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security best practices, including patching, updates, firewalls, access control, and monitoring for threats or vulnerabilities.
  • Backups & Recovery: Manage backup and recovery procedures for critical systems and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide advanced support for server issues, working with internal teams to resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation on configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, network, and security teams to ensure smooth operations across the entire IT infrastructure.
  • System Integration: Integrate Linux servers with other systems, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), storage solutions, and enterprise applications.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor and plan for future capacity needs, recommending system upgrades and expansion.
