The purpose of the SIS Gatekeeper is to administer the site SIS program to ensure the safety, availability, and reliability of the site’s safety instrumented systems. Ensuring the integrity of the safety instrumented systems directly contributes to Nutrien’s safety, environmental, and reliability objectives.


What you will do:


The SIS Gatekeeper shall be accountable for the following activities related to their assigned SIS:

- Verification, validation, and witnessing commissioning activities.

- Delivering training to all personnel that interface and/or maintain SIS.

- Developing written procedures for inspection, testing, and maintenance of the SIS.

- Ensuring that all SIS documentation is developed (new systems), or is updated

- Providing the site with SIS expertise (i.e., first point of contact for the site for all SIS).

- Reviewing and approving new SIS designs

- Reviewing and approving the SIS Manual and the SRS


What you will bring:


BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree

- 8-10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in petrochemical or similar industry

- Experience with Honeywell Experion PKS, C300 and Safety Manager

- General knowledge of Microsoft Office Work, Excel, Outlook

- Familiarity with the application of ISA 61511 - Functional Safety: Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industry Sector.

- Knowledge and experience with burner management systems.

- Knowledge and experience with turbine speed governor controls.

- Knowledge and experience with distributed control systems.

- Knowledge and experience with general purpose and safety programmable logic controllers.

- Knowledge of the implementation of the site’s instrumentation and control mechanical integrity program.
