Important responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Serve as the onsite point-of-contact for a strategic client engagement, overseeing the technical data architecture as well as near-shore and offshore implementation teams
  • Work closely with the Client Director and Sales Solution Architects to identify account growth opportunities
  • Communicate directly with senior client stakeholders and show innovation and problem-solving skills in all elements of work
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, design, and deliver solutions
  • Design and develop big data architectures in GCP
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models for cloud data architectures
  • Design, develop, and optimize data processing workflows using Spark, Hive, Airflow, and GCP Dataproc
  • Write efficient SQL queries and develop data pipelines using pySpark
  • Implement DevOps practices using GitHub for continuous integration and deployment
  • Ensure integrity of data through rigorous attention to detail and validation, including adherence to all regulatory, privacy, and security compliance procedures
  • Identify potential issues and risks during project implementation and form realistic mitigation strategies
  • Document process, code, and models
  • Hands-on development as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred
  • 10+ years in progressive roles in Data Engineering including relevant experience working with Google Cloud Platform or on-premises Hadoop solutions: designing, implementing, and supporting data architectures, data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and streaming pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Architect
  • 2+ years of GCP experience
  • GCP Professional Data Engineer certification
  • Experience translating business requirements to technical requirements
  • Experience managing Agile projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside great attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience with GCP and its data services
  • Hands-on experience with Spark, Hive, and Airflow
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks is preferred
  • Experience designing and implementing continuous integration and deployment pipelines with GitHub is preferred
  • Knowledge of Scala and its application in big data processing
