Do you enjoy being the first to know things?????

First off, if you said ‘Yes’ to those, you’re probably a lot like us, and we like you already. Second, your personality, natural talents, and intellect are precisely what we’re looking for
About Us
We're seeking an ambitious and career-minded individual for the role of Homeowners Association (HOA) Budget Analyst to join our expanding team of professionals. We pride ourselves on our tradition of promoting from within. Every member of our team starts as a Budget Analyst.
At California Builder Services, we're not just colleagues – we're a tightly-knit operation dedicated to fostering professional and personal growth for our employees. We are a well-established independent consulting firm, specializing in new developments throughout the entire State.
About the Role:
We aren’t racecar drivers, astronauts, or scientists curing cancer, but we play a vital role in the California residential real estate industry and directly impact homeownership.
As a Budget Analyst, you are responsible for setting the homeowner association dues on new construction residential developments. What makes one gated community’s dues $100/mo and another $250/mo? You will be the one person setting that rate…
You’ll manage a small caseload of projects throughout the state. You might be working on a 10-unit building in San Francisco one minute and a 2,000-home master-planned community in San Diego the next minute.
A day in the life of this Full-Time, In-Office position will comprise of the following:
- 40% Working through Excel workbooks; roughly 40% of your day will be using Excel. You’ll calculate and transpose data from a working plan or map into different spreadsheets. You must create formulas linking different areas and sheets and applying calculations to other numbers.
- 40%: examining plans, maps, and construction drawings. 40% of your day will be spent reviewing construction drawings like site plans, improvement plans, tentative and final maps, and conceptual designs. You’ll use Bluebeam to do quantity takeoffs and get quantities of different surfaces and items on the plans to be budgeted for. If you have never used Bluebeam to do take-offs, no problem -we will teach you.
- 20%: Calls, Meetings, and Emails. You’re responsible for building the community budget, so you’ll contact and collaborate with property managers, maintenance contractors, municipal governments, builders, and developers to get cost estimates and projections.
What makes this a great place to work:
- Did we mention we’re a growing company? Isn’t it better to be a part of a small company amid high growth than with a big, stuffy corporate box where no one knows your name? We’ve been on the Central Valley’s fastest-growing company list for three years.
- Promotion is expected. We only want to work with people who want to promote and grow within their roles. If you don't want to grow and promote, then don't apply. Budget Consultant is the next position.
- Health, Dental, and Vision plans with a generous monthly contribution
- Over a month off every year in paid holidays, vacations, and sick time
- A genuinely awesome team of highly skilled professionals who are respected experts in the industry and proud of a transparent and collaborative work culture.
- This position pays $50,000 to $73,000 commensurate with experience, plus bonus and benefits. The average total benefits package is valued at an additional $15,000 annually.
What you will need to be successful in the role:
- Two years of experience working in an office using Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Common knowledge of construction materials, methods, and real estate terms.
- A deep thirst for learning. The construction and real estate laws are constantly changing, and you’ll need to learn and adapt continually.
- The willingness to take on more responsibility and grow within the company. We are a fast-growing company with big goals for the years to come. We only want to work with people who want to grow and be promoted within the company.
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, real estate, finance, accounting, or business is preferred.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication, professional appearance, phone etiquette, strong organizational skills, exceptional research skills, and the ability to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail required.
Are you excited about the opportunity? Us too
Apply with your resume and put the answer to this question in your reply. Write an Excel formula for this problem: In a 120-home development, the landscaper charges $1000 per month, plus $3 per home per month, plus $600 per year for fertilizer. What is the annual cost of landscaping?
