PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Responsible for managing the overall company warehouse, assembly and purchasing functions to meet company objectives and customer requirements. Works closely with Division President and core management team to plan and address strategic issues related to the overall business.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


Purchasing:


Provide leadership, direction and support to the Purchasing Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations, strategy and execution of the business.

Provide leadership direction and support in sourcing of domestic and international supplier partners as it relates to new products and capabilities.

Provide leadership direction and support in negotiating cost reductions, best cost practices, staffing and operating of day-to-day activities in the Purchasing area.

Provide leadership direction and support for import material declarations, U.S. Customs interactions and other legal activities involving U.S. Customs.

Provide leadership direction and support with inventory management and establishing strategies to meet short and long-term business goals and objectives.


Production and Warehouse:

Provide leadership, direction and support to the Production and Warehouse Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day operations as well as execution of strategy to meet established goals and objectives.

Direct and support initiatives to drive continuous capacity, efficiency, and quality improvements.

Provide leadership, direction and support to the Production Scheduling Manager / ERP Analyst in all aspects of the day-to-day operations as well as execution of strategy to meet established goals


Administrative:


Create and manage departmental budgets, incorporating all areas of expenditures as well as oversite of the annual scorecard planning process.

Oversee and manage staffing and training and development initiatives for Purchasing personnel and the Production and Warehouse personnel

Oversee and manage the performance and salary review process for all Purchasing personnel in addition to the Production and Warehouse personnel

Active participant in long term strategic planning to determine potential growth and development initiatives for the business.

Active participant in New Product Development activities.

All other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BA/BS in business administration or supply chain/manufacturing related discipline.
  • 10 or more years or Experience in a senior management role.
  • 10 or more years of Experience in purchasing, supply chain and manufacturing environments.
  • Prior experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes and principles.
  • Experience working with international sourcing and U.S. Customs is a plus.
  • Strong negotiator.
  • Effective at Project Management
  • Proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to supervise, lead and coach staff.
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Prior experience and proficiency with MRP/ERP programs. – Microsoft D365 or AX preferred.
