Role: Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC/ Hybrid


Summary:

As a Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer, you will provide day-to-day responsibility for key cloud-native infrastructure, computing, database, network, storage, and interoperability initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain Google Cloud Platform infrastructure to support our applications and services.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate Google Cloud Platform services
  • Stay current with Google Cloud Platform technologies, and best practices and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Design and develop high performance, scalable and secure cloud native applications on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Work with development teams to implement best practices for deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of Google Cloud Platform resources. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Google Cloud Platform infrastructure and services wherever needed.
  • Supports the development of the technical design and documentation.
  • Maintain open channels of communication by providing relevant information, technical expertise, and recommended best practices and patterns.


Skill Set Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 8 years of experience in IT or Technology-related disciplines with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • 5+ Experience working with cloud native Google Cloud Platform and hybrid cloud environments such as researching the best use of cloud products and the ecosystem, designing, developing, implementing, and managing Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.
  • 3+ hands-on experience in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • 2+ years' experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Well versed with Google Cloud Technologies like IAM, Networking (VPC, Load Balancers, Ips, Firewalls, DNS) and Serverless Technologies
  • In depth knowledge of Terraform, Terraform modules for automation, DevOps knowledge including CI/CD and Git.
  • Google Cloud Foundation


Good to have:

  • Experience on Ansible playbooks and automation using python scripts.
