A DevOps Engineer’s role is primarily focused on systems engineering and administration duties to provide stability, automation, configuration, backup, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation and updates to the company’s infrastructure.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Rundeck, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Collaborate with software developers to optimize application performance and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, backup, and alerting solutions to ensure the health and availability of our systems.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and industry standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents to minimize downtime and ensure system stability.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve our infrastructure and development processes.
  • Research, test, and deploy tools as needed on a project basis.
  • Develop and provide documentation/training on procedures.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments
  • Monitor and tune database performance to ensure efficient operation and response times
  • Automate database administration tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on infrastructure
  • Strong expertise in cloud computing platforms (AWS preferred) and related services
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of “infrastructure as code” principles, and experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Gitlab CI/CD experience preferred)
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (ELK stack and Sensu experience a plus).
  • Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus.



Education and Experience:

5+ years of experience in a distributed systems environment in a DevOps or SRE role

Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
