Data Analyst, Capital Projects and Reporting

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and updating Excel files and PowerPoint presentations related to appropriations, expenditures, and Capital Program allocations.
- Maintain and update datasets, ensuring timely adjustments when numbers change.
- Collaborate with the planning group to support Capital Plan updates and contribute to planning efforts.
- Work with the legacy systems for data management, ensuring accurate data entry, retrieval, and integration.
- Assist with financial data management, including tracking expenditures and ensuring accurate representation in reports.
- Work closely with manager to manage data transfer projects and streamline workflows.
- Support SQL and Power BI projects in coordination with the team, as needed.
- Generate periodic reports and perform ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve Excel, PRINTS/PRINTS AUX, and PowerPoint workflows for increased efficiency.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the Capital Program team.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Data Analysis, Economics, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of experience to include working with Excel, data analysis, or financial reporting.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or other data management tools.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with large data sets and generate insights.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments.
Preferred:
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Knowledge of SQL or similar data management software.
