Position Overview 

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Platform Engineering Leader to join our dynamic team. As a Software Platform Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team working on the design and applications of the core software infrastructure that powers our hardware, computer vision and AI platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our system pipelines and work closely with customers on the application of these solutions to fit into customer workflows and enable customer requirements.  If you are passionate about working with multiple stakeholders -- including developers, customers, product managers and operations teams -- towards commercializing a great technology and you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we want to hear from you. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with developers to guide the design of the core software infrastructure for our computer vision platforms, including APIs, microservices, and backend systems – with the goal of scalability, configurability, and reliability. 
  • Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, data scientists, and robotics specialists to define requirements and ensure compatibility with our software stack. 
  • Lead on the requirement definition for scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions that support the needs of our growing customer base. 
  • Drive the development of new features and enhancements, from conception to deployment, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery. 
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance our software platforms. 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the growth and development of the applications engineering team. 
  • Lead new initiatives successfully with limited resources, support, and information.  
  • Define and enhance KPIs in conjunction with analytics and stakeholder teams that educate business decision making. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field; master's degree preferred. 
  • Proven experience (10 years) in software or application development, with a focus on building scalable, configurable, and reliable software platforms. 
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Previous experience in the SAAS industry. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and experience with modern software development frameworks and tools. 
  • Experience with deploying and managing applications on both on-premises and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), utilizing containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for efficient deployment and scalability.  
  • Familiarity with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune) to model and query complex relationships, and familiarity with streaming tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink) for real-time data processing and analysis. 
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile software development methodologies.
