Position Overview:
As a Project Engineer, you will have full responsibility for complex, multi-phased engineering projects from start to finish. Your role involves leading the preparation of CAD models, conducting FEA analysis, performing strength calculations, and developing comprehensive technical data packages. Your work will be crucial in delivery high-quality suspension solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed concept designs and supporting analysis for proposals and quotations.
- Set performance targets aligned with customer objectives.
- Conduct technical feasibility and system trade studies.
- Create detailed cost estimates and project timelines.
- Present technical data and program updates to customers.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineers, analysts, and designers.
- Select components to optimize performance, cost, and quality.
- Design and conduct tests to validate product performance.
- Develop and validate corrective actions to enhance product quality.
- Interface with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and resolve any issues.
- Prepare Technical Data Packages (TDPs) including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
- Maintain a focus on safety, quality, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience managing multiple engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of suspension systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of self-learning.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in suspension design for heavy-duty vehicles.
- Familiarity with high-pressure hydraulics, seals, valves, and structural components.
- Proficient in stress analysis, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with suspension damping valve mechanisms and tuning for ride and handling.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Pro/ENGINEER CAD systems and FEA tools.
