Required Expertise:

  • Profound comprehension of Nuclear Medicine methodology, equipment, and radiopharmaceuticals is essential.
  • Familiarity with radiation safety principles, hazardous materials management, and infection control guidelines is imperative.

Relevant Background:

  • Previous experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital environment is a prerequisite.
  • Demonstrates the implementation of radiation protection and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure for both staff and patients.
  • Proven ability to uphold a quality assurance program in adherence to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
  • Committed to fulfilling mandated continuing education requirements to stay updated on industry developments.
  • Potential involvement in training and precepting students and new technologists.
  • Proficient in operating a diverse array of complex stationary diagnostic equipment.
  • Capable of ordering, preparing, administering, and disposing radiopharmaceuticals and/or agents according to established protocols.
  • Skilled in accurately positioning patients and selecting appropriate anatomic and technical parameters.

Essential Skills:

  • Possession of certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registration with the ARRT as a Registered Technologist, R.T. (N), in good standing is mandatory.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification and CRT-CA License are prerequisites for this role.

Educational Background:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine is required.
