Position: Azure/M365 Security Engineer

Rate: 55-65/hr on W2

Salary Conversion Rate: $120K-$135K

Length: 3-6 Month Contract to Hire – with expectation to convert full time

Onsite Requirements: 3 days a week onsite and one of the above locations and 1 day a month at the Palm Beach office



PROJECT DETAILS:

Looking for an Engineer with backgrounds in both MS Azure and M365

O365 – eDiscovery, DLP are some examples to screen for.

Azure – cloud app security solutions, application permissions some examples to screen for

Needs to be high level who understand security aspects.

Will be implementing changes and putting them in place.

This team maintains security products, evaluates permissions and provides recommendations for example.

Needs to understand and relay information back to security for implementations.

Someone who can look at an application and determine what the vulnerabilities are, what are the risk levels, policies, etc. Say if someone wants to roll out a 3rd party application, her team evaluates the applications, and provides that reporting to security to either allow or block that access.

Could be great to have some PowerShell scripting (standard for strong windows person)

API a plus

They are a full Azure environment

Microsoft 365 Compliance Admin Center (eDiscovery, DLP, Information Protection and others).

Azure (Conditional Access, Application permissions and MCAS)

  • Looking for someone knowledgeable in MS365- rediscovery, commissions, assets, DLP
  • Azure – conditional assets, empath, MS Cloud app, commissions when it comes to applications
  • Does not want someone has just done support. Need to understand security of both products.


Day to Day:

  • Won't be handling vulnerability but will be implementing the changes and won't be maintaining security products.
  • Evaluate permissions, need to provide their take to Cyber on how things need to be implemented.
  • Does not want someone to do the monitoring- needs a thinker- someone who can review and explain vulnerabilities of applications, what permissions need to be on, which need to be off, etc.
  • Higher level thinking than just monitoring.
  • Won't be doing security 24/7- wants someone who can learn other tools as needed as well.

MUST HAVES:

1. Enterprise company experience

2. Strong in O365 – Microsoft 365 Compliance Admin Center (eDiscovery, DLP, Information Protection and others).

3. Strong Azure – Azure (Conditional Access, Application permissions and MCAS)

4. Basic PowerShell scripting (windows language)

5. SME in security and risk analysis



CLIENT JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows and Azure Security Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure cloud services and Microsoft Office 365 security tools. This position requires the ability to work on-site at one of our South Florida office locations three days per week.


**Key Responsibilities:**


- Design, implement, and manage security solutions within the Azure cloud environment.

- Monitor and maintain the security posture of Microsoft Office 365 environments.

- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.

- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.

- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.

- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

- Respond to and manage security incidents and breaches, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

- Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technology advancements.

- Provide security training and awareness programs for employees.


**Qualifications:**


- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with a focus on Windows and Azure environments.

- In-depth knowledge of Azure security services and tools, including Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, and Azure AD.

- Strong experience with Microsoft Office 365 security features and tools, such as Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and Office 365 Security & Compliance Center.

- Proficiency in managing and securing Windows server environments.

- Familiarity with network security technologies and concepts.

- Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

- Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+, are highly desirable.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
