VICE PRESIDENT OF PROPERTY ACCOUNTING


Fast-growing Greenwich-based real estate investment and management company is seeking a Vice President of Property Accounting. Reporting directly to the Owner, this person will be responsible for overseeing property accounting matters in connection with investment and asset management reporting requirements for a series of commercial and mixed-used properties.

This position supervises other property accountants and interacts directly with asset managers, on-site and off-site property managers, vendors, property ownership, and institutional clients (third-party owners, JV equity partners, and lenders).

Responsibilities include:

·        Coordinate with asset management team to complete all accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of retail and mixed-use properties

·        Interface with 3rd party institutional clients, JV partners, lenders, and Brand Street Properties ownership

·        Oversee property accounting staff, including property accountants, AP and AR team

·        Oversee accurate and timely monthly accruals

·        Review annual CAM/Insurance/Tax reconciliations with the property accountants, leasing team and asset management team

·        Review bank reconciliations

·        Ensure timely completion of annual budgets with information from property management, leasing and asset management teams

·        Complete annual audit as necessary with third-party auditors

·        Review and ensure timely filing of annual tax returns

·        Maintain, organize and file A/P, A/R departmental records

·        Oversee 1099 reporting with outside CPA firm

·        Other duties as assigned


We’re looking for someone who matches the following qualifications:

·        Proactive self-starter with strong ability to organize and prioritize

·        Leadership capabilities with experience managing others

·        Detail-oriented

·        Ability to multi-task and meet various deadlines

·        Strong communication skills

·        Experience with MRI, Yardi, Kardin, Avid

·        Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX, MATCH, and Pivot Tables)

·        CPA preferred

·        Min 10 years of prior experience in the commercial real estate industry
