At Lifescale Analytics, we help achieve data-driven decisions by leveraging strategic technologies to create innovative solutions that ultimately help our clients to navigate their ever-changing data landscape. We have an opportunity for a Data Scientist, this is an onsite role in Raleigh, NC. Must be onsite full-time, travel expenses and relocation expenses are not covered by the employer/client. This candidate will identify business trends and problems through complex big data analysis. Interpret results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Design, develop, and implement the most valuable business solutions for the organization. Prepare big data, implements data models, and develops database to support the business solutions.

Applicants responding to this position must be a US Citizen and may be subjected to a government security investigation which requires possessing the ability to view classified government information, background checks and drug screening. All applicants applying must have lived in the US for the past 5 years and cannot have traveled out of the country more than 6 months (cumulatively) in the past five years. (Military Service excluded).

Requirements include but not limited to:


Task #1: Data Analysis and Visualization Development

Deliverables will be tailored to each project and may include:

  • Rapid analysis scripts
  • Visualization prototypes / models
  • Interactive dashboards
  • Visioning session materials
  • Analysis reports and presentations
  • Project plans and documentation


The deliverable shall meet the following acceptance criteria in addition to compliance with the technical approach outlined below:

  • Analysis techniques are appropriate for the given need and available data
  • Project timelines are met within a reasonable variance due to uncertainty of the individual project
  • Project documentation is accurate to the analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
  • Products meet the Business Unit’s needs and are usable by the Business Unit with minimal training


Task #2: Modeling and Optimization

Deliverables are project-dependent and may include:

  • Mathematical optimization models
  • Source code and/or scripting
  • Translational documentation for use in analytical and visualization product development
  • Proposal presentations
  • Project result documentation and presentations


The deliverable must meet the following acceptance criteria in addition to compliance with the technical approach outlined below:

  • Model parameters and functions are appropriate for the given need and available data
  • Project timelines are met within a reasonable variance due to uncertainty of the individual project
  • Project documentation is accurate to the analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
  • Products meet the Business Unit’s needs and are usable by the Business Unit with minimal training


Experience Level

  • A minimum of thirteen (13) to twenty (20) years’ relevant experience
  • Skilled in SQL, Python or R, preferably both.
  • Have good communication skills, and some proven ability to work in a variety of industries, indicating the ability to be a quick study when confronted with the complex environment.


Education:

  • A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services such as Data science, statistics, or experimental psych is preferred. Plus Four (4) additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a college degree is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required


Additional Provisions:

  • Pass both a client mandated clearance process which includes drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
  • Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
  • Cannot have more than 6 months’ travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
