Corporate Legal Counsel

Recruiting Solutions is seeking a Corporate Counsel for a Direct Hire opportunity with a financial services company in Greenville, South Carolina This is an in-office, Monday to Friday role, with a competitive anticipated salary range of up to $140,000 per year as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance

Corporate Counsel Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research, provide analysis, and advise business units on various legal matters.
- Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters, including settlement negotiations, coordination of outside counsel, and handling indemnification issues.
- Draft, review, and edit contracts, pleadings, motions, memos, and discovery documents.
- Advise business units on legal compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, and other applicable laws.
- Develop and execute defense strategies in litigation, mediation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings.
- Serve as a liaison and resource for business units, particularly on issues related to debt collection, consumer and business bankruptcy law.
- Analyze litigation trends, case development, and relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
- Review and update business policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
Corporate Counsel Requirements and Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Membership in a state bar.
- 3-5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in creditor rights, consumer law, bankruptcy, litigation defense, administrative law, loan servicing, or financial services law.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with senior management.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to manage diverse teams and work effectively with outside professionals.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, intellectually curious individual who can self-educate on new processes and act as a champion for change.
