About the Role - Working in this integral leadership position you will lead, coach, develop, and motivate subordinate personnel to achieve department objectives in a timely, safe, and environmentally compliant manner. The Manufacturing Maintenance Manager partners with Engineering and Operations to ensure all plant assets are maintained in the most effective manner possible while sustaining continuous plant operations.



Responsibilities - The principal emphasis of this role is to manage the strategic business plan deployment in collaboration with all departments at the location. Manage a comprehensive predictive and preventative maintenance program while sustainably minimizing repair & maintenance cost. These goals need to be accomplished while building a safe and effective organization through sustained employee engagement at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate in this job must function as a business partner with other managers/leaders within the plant, within the BU (FRP), and within greater Kaiser to drive results beyond their department. Establish and communicate a strategic vision with appropriate stretch goals that establish a clear direction for the organization, while providing the tools necessary for binary communication with employees at all levels of the organization. Develop strategic maintenance direction for the three-year planning horizon. Significant participation in the preparation of operational budgets, capital plans, appropriation requests, and project follow-up. Of equal significance is the incumbent's concern with constantly improving the effectiveness of the people, processes and facilities under his or her direction. The incumbent will also have a demonstrated ability to identify and improve system issues across the entire operation. Ensure safe, efficient, cost effective and reliable maintenance execution that meets changing volume requirements and production schedules. Manage relationship with union committee; maintain compliance with collective bargaining agreement.



Qualifications - 10 or more years of progressively increasing leadership experience in maintenance or engineering within heavy industry. Change management and continuous improvement experience in a lean manufacturing environment. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or business-related field. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Must be able to develop direct reports to facilitate career growth. Proven ability to lead a team to success. Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.



Required Skills - CMRP certification. Industrial manufacturing experience. Leadership experience within a unionized workplace.
