AmeriQual is seeking an experienced Industrial Sanitation Manager - Quality Assurance to join our team.

About the Role:

The Industrial Sanitation Manager - Quality Assurance will be responsible for ensuring that all sanitation procedures are followed and that the plant remains in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring, modifying, and contributing to the design of sanitation and safety policies/procedures to ensure product safety and superior plant cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate sanitation issues, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure that documented sanitation procedures are followed
  • Maintain currency with all applicable regulatory requirements, safety requirements, and training requirements
  • Approve sanitation employee time off requests and timesheets, and address any discrepancies through Kronos
  • Direct and supervise employees in all aspects of industrial sanitation on 2nd shift
  • Review and audit cleaning activities for timely processing start-up
  • Assist with audits as needed (both 1st and 3rd party)

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; BS in Food Science, Industrial Supervision, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a food-manufacturing environment with management or supervisory duties
  • Industrial sanitation experience required; previous experience in a food manufacturing setting strongly preferred, as well as knowledge of OSHDA, MSDS, HACCP, and USDA policies and regulations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with basic computer skills and ability to grasp current systems (Kronos, document control, safety systems, accident reporting)
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • Understand basic mechanical and operational principles
  • Good communication skills, with ability to supervise and motivate employees in a team-based environment
  • Fork truck experience and ability to be certified
  • Read and understand chemical labels
  • Follow all GMP, cleaning guidelines, chemical safety, and Lock out Tag out procedures
  • Solid understanding of allergens, microbiological, and mold issues

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods, talk or hear, use hands repetitively to operate tools and equipment, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 pounds pulling/pushing/moving objects. The individual must also have the ability to adjust focus, work in standard seasonal warehouse and food packaging plant temperature conditions, and work in an environment where nuts, fruits, and other allergens are present.

Compensation:

A competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, is offered to successful candidates. In addition, AmeriQual offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
