In this critical role, you will lead the Disaster Recovery Program Office, ensuring compliance with disaster recovery standards. Your responsibilities include championing our disaster recovery and IT crisis management processes. By partnering with stakeholders across the IT organization, you will align recovery efforts and drive effective strategies to build IT operational resiliency across all systems. As a key member of the Enterprise Technical Services team, you will report directly to the Manager of ITSM, ITSD, DRPO, and End Point Services


Key Functions:

Execute yearly exercises and Event response


• Create and manage annual disaster recovery test plan calendar.


• Lead development, scheduling, and running of disaster recovery exercises.


• Mitigate disaster recovery related audit findings.


• Serve as primary contact for the Disaster Recovery Program Office and handle questions and issues as they arise.


Communication, Training, and Support


• Create and deliver disaster recovery and IT crisis management presentations and training materials.


• Develop and promote use of disaster recovery processes and tools.


• Provide guidance and assist IT application stewards with creating and maintaining disaster recovery runbooks.


• Guide and coach IT application stewards with test plans and documenting evidence for audit compliance.


• Manage and communicate the scope and objectives of our annual disaster recovery testing.


• Understand IT risks and controls and ensure disaster recovery testing and processes meet ourr IT controls requirements.


• Create and maintain disaster recovery activity reports, dashboards, and metrics.


Data Analysis and Risk Assessment


• Identify opportunities for disaster recovery process improvements and implement solutions.


• Provide data and metrics on IT DR program success and opportunities to a senior leadership team.


• Develop an IT DR Program Maturity roadmap to address changes in technologies being adopted.


Create and Maintain


• Develop and maintain disaster recovery standards, documentation, and templates.


• Support the creation and maintenance of Application and Mill disaster recovery runbooks.


• Provide thoughtful collaboration to develop relevant IT DR testing methods and plans.


• Develop and maintain IT Crisis Management Plan processes and procedures.


• Recommend, prepare, and facilitate IT Crisis Management Plan tabletop exercises.


• Maintain primary document repository with disaster recovery runbooks and program documentation.



Qualifications:


• Experience in disaster recovery, business continuity or crisis management.


• Proficiency understanding of backup systems (e.g., Commvault, or similar).


• Understanding of backup schedules, retention policies, and data deduplication.


• Knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies and best practices.


• Experience creating, maintaining, and testing disaster recovery plans.


• Familiarity with conducting tabletop exercises and full-scale recovery tests.


• Understanding of high availability (HA) concepts and technologies (e.g., clustering, load balancing).


• Ability to review and assess viability of designs and implementations of failover solutions for critical systems.


• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).


• Working knowledge of disaster recovery methodology and practices in the Cloud and on-premises solutions.


• Knowledge of disaster recovery options in virtualized and cloud environments.


• Awareness of network security principles (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention).


• Ability to secure communication channels during disaster recovery.


• Skills in assessing risks related to data loss, system downtime, and business impact.


• Ability to prioritize recovery efforts based on criticality.


• Strong documentation skills for creating detailed recovery procedures.


• Effective communication with stakeholders during incidents.


• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience


• Minimum of 4 to 6 years of relevant Information Technology experience.


• Highly proficient in leading continuous improvement efforts.


• Experience managing IT projects or initiatives from beginning to end.


• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.


• Highly proficient in performing highly complex analysis.


• Skilled at leading small to medium-sized projects.


• Proficient understanding of IT Service Management.


• Highly proficient in offering suggestions regarding improvements or enhancements to current tasks, assignments, and projects.


• Skilled in working with a high level of autonomy.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills.


• Ability to influence, coach and mentor others.


• Excellent collaboration skills in working across all IT teams and business segments.


• Able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities concurrently.


• Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.


• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to all IT audiences.


• Proven ability to operate and effectively communicate while under pressure; as well as the ability to manage a diverse workload and work under time constraints with minimal supervision.


• Actively work to learn new skills to stay current with changing technologies and industry trends.


• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office365 tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Teams and SharePoint.
