Optomi, in partnership with a leading client, is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer for a hybrid role in Chicago

Experience of the right candidate:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in QA, with a strong focus on automation and manual testing.
  • Expertise in Python for developing and enhancing automated tests.
  • Hands-on experience with UiPath (or other similar automation tools) for automating repetitive tasks and business processes.
  • Solid understanding of test automation frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in manual testing, including application and image validation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues across various systems and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with image validation tools like OpenCV for ensuring image integrity and visual consistency.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as XUnit or InUnit for developing comprehensive test suites.
  • Experience with browser automation and testing frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning technologies and their application in automating business processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.


Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Lead and execute manual testing for application and image validation, ensuring the highest standards of quality are met.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain test automation scripts using Python and UiPath, with a focus on optimizing the test automation pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, developers, business analysts) to identify areas for automation and integrate automation with AI and machine learning solutions.
  • Design and implement automated tests for business processes, application functionality, and image validation.
  • Continuously evaluate new tools, methodologies, and industry trends to improve the overall test automation strategy.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA engineers and team members.
  • Document test plans, cases, and results; provide detailed bug reports and follow-up on issue resolution.
  • Assist in developing strategies for scaling automation across various systems and platforms.
