$150-175k Base


This is a junior role for a strong Accountant with private equity or VC experience to get mentored and trained to become a CFO/COO. 4-6 years total experience for this role.


Great Opportunity for a Senior Associate Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller -Junior role-will be mentored. Role involves accounting, investor relations, and valuations. The fund views this as a long term partnership and an investment in a C level executive. The right candidate will have 4 years maximum of experience in Venture Capital or Private Equity Accounting.


Our client is a private equity firm with $500mil AUM. The firm is seeking its first non-investment professional to manage fund accounting, reporting, compliance, operations, and support investor relations and other cross-functional teams as needed. The Senior Accountant/VP of Finance to be the CFO will report to the Founders. This role is a fantastic opportunity, with a long pathway for growth within the organization.


Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Reviewing capital calls and distributions, investor allocations, and quarterly NAV packages
  • Reviewing and processing monthly expense reports
  • Overseeing expense reimbursement, bill payments, and overall cash management
  • Supporting with the close process for all new investments
  • Assisting with SEC filings as needed
  • Addressing investor requests as needed
  • Maintaining relationships and communication with various cross-functional parties (audit, tax, compliance, etc.)
  • Assisting in ad hoc projects


Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited College or University, CPA preferred.
  • 4-8 of Accounting/Finance experience
  • Strong technical background and ability to manage various fund structures
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach, a desire to take ownership and get involved
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to manage and coach people
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail and strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment and handle multiple projects and deadlines
