Job Summary


We seek a skilled Building Automation Technician to join our San Francisco, CA team. This role is ideal for a technician with experience working on building automation controls for HVAC systems in commercial buildings. You will focus on data centers, labs, hospitals, and central plants, where large HVAC equipment and chillers are essential to operations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Installed, troubleshot, and serviced building automation systems (BAS) for HVAC equipment in commercial facilities such as data centers, hospitals, and labs.
  • Program, commission, and optimize controls for central plant HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, and large-applied HVAC systems.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and maintenance on control systems, ensuring proper operation and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate BAS systems with other technologies, including Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys, Distech, ALC, Bacnet, and Schneider Electric systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records and provide clients with timely updates on system performance and required repairs.


Qualifications


  • 3-5 years of experience working with building automation systems, particularly in commercial buildings with large HVAC equipment.
  • Proficiency in HVAC control systems, combined with experience in data centers, labs, hospitals, or central plants, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with building automation platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys, Distech, and Bacnet.
  • Technical expertise in software tools like AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project, Trimble AutoBid, and Revit.
  • Must have a local and stable work history with a commitment to long-term project engagement.


Preferred Skills


  • Hands-on experience with central plants, including chillers, boilers, and applied HVAC equipment.
  • Knowledge of networking and integration of BAS with various systems for enhanced facility management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • HVAC certifications such as EPA 608 or equivalent are a plus.
