Boston, United States Scientific Beta Full time

About Us

Scientific Beta is a global index provider with strong academic roots, offering a wide range of smart factor and climate indexes in the public equity space.

Established in 2012, a spin-off from the globally renowned research center of EDHEC-Risk Institute (part of EDHEC Business School) in France, our mission is to create robust, smart factor and climate equity indexes, adopting the latest academic advances, design, and implementation, under scientific rigour and veracity.

With global offices across four continents our diverse team of curious, creative, and passionate professionals are fully dedicated to the research, design and production of indexes and related services. We are trusted partners to some of the world’s largest asset owners and financial institutions, providing our clients with robust institutional index solutions for the ultimate benefit of asset owners.

In 2020, the Singapore Exchange (SGX) acquired a majority stake in Scientific Beta. SGX continues to maintain a strong collaboration with EDHEC Business School, in addition to the principles of independent, empirical-based academic research, fueling continues innovation benefiting Scientific Beta’s index development to date.

To strengthen our business development efforts in North America we are looking for an experienced and highly driven Business Development Director, covering institutional asset owners, consultants, and Asset Managers from our Boston office.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to Scientific Beta’s CEO, you will work in close partnership with the Investment Specialist for North America, who will provide technical product support, to expand our market reach and drive revenue growth for our Index Products.

Forming a GTM strategy, identifying key institutional targets by channels and regions, generating leads, and conducting a solutions-based sales approach for our index family.

Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing clients, serving as a trusted advisor and partner in their investment journey, with a focus on cross-selling and client retention.

Effectively covering consultants and their research teams, in close cooperation with the Investment Specialist.

Develop and execute brand-building strategies, in close cooperation with the Investment Strategist, to elevate Scientific Beta’s presence in North America, including thought leadership initiatives, industry events, and strategic partnerships.

Keep your finger on the pulse of industry trends and market dynamics to seize new opportunities and navigate challenges.

Who You Are:

A trailblazer with at least 10 years of experience in business development within the financial services industry.

Index and/or buy-side experience in systematic investing, with a proven track record of driving growth and building lasting relationships with institutional investors in North America.
