Your Next Opportunity
We are currently seeking a full-time Director, Purchasing in our Indianapolis region. This person will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing for the region including vertical construction costing & estimating, managing entire bid process, field/trade communications, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the life of each new community built.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Distributing, receiving, reviewing, and comparing completed bid documents for all vertical construction trades.
- Executing and maintaining of construction contracts for all vertical construction trades.
- Maintaining current trade partner accounts and the ongoing search for potential new vendors.
- Ongoing search for potential cost savings and improved processes involved in entire construction process.
- Projecting accurate budgets and timelines for all vertical construction trades.
- Serving as single point of contact within the Purchasing Department for Construction, Sales, and trade partners for ongoing construction projects within the market.
- Leading the efforts in educating internal and external customers on all products and processes involved in vertical construction.
Requirements of the Purchasing Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, I/T, or related discipline.
- Five (5) years of work experience in the Construction Industry with experience using builder software; MarkSystems preferred.
- Proven ability to communicate and negotiate effectively.
- Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
