C# / .NET Developer
Duration: 6 month contract (likely extensions)
Location: Stamford, CT or NYC (2 days per week on site - flexible)
Our team is looking for talented engineers for a highly visible and impactful internal product. As a software developer in the market data team, you will be responsible for the firm’s primary market data management system that supports both real-time and end-of-day processes critical to our Macro trading business.
This is a highly visible role with significant business exposure. The engineer will be driving improvements to the primary system used at the firm to configure and disseminate market data for end-of-day and end-of-month operations, as well as provide intraday market data for our real-time risk and P&L systems used by the front office.
This is a hands-on software developer position where you will be expected to balance tactical needs with strategic goals, while keeping a product ownership approach to software development.
This role requires a combination of deep technical expertise, as well as an ability to balance tactical and strategic goals, and a strong sense of ownership over the product being worked on.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in either market data or risk systems.
Responsibilities:
- Enhancements to Market Data Operations: Be able to improve systems and processes that support an end-to-end market data lifecycle, including acquisition, normalization, control, distribution, and archiving. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of market data to trading and analytical systems, with a strong focus on market data needed to value the firm portfolio both intraday and at end-of-day.
- Manage Data Flows: Optimize data pipelines and infrastructure to handle large volumes of market data efficiently and with minimal latency.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to onboard new market data feeds, manage existing data feeds, and resolve issues on an ongoing basis in a timely manner.
- Data Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain data quality standards and processes. Monitor data integrity and address any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of market data with various trading platforms, analytics tools, and reporting systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in market data technologies. Propose and implement enhancements to improve data systems and workflows.
