We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill our Technical Account Representative role, located at our Houston office.


This position will be responsible for the development and strengthening of our sales and support position for all company products.


This position will work with other Technical Account Representatives to surface customer issues and patterns in customer reports, provide insights and recommendations on how to improve our products, and drive continuous improvement programs to better serve our users.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and conducts technical presentations and demos that present current and future products to potential customers.
  • Utilizes technical acumen to understand and gather customer requirements and to prepare specifications and generate quotes.
  • Partners with internal technical and marketing teams to offer suggestions for product enhancements and to share insights from customers.
  • Understands the construction cycle and successfully influences decision-makers at all levels to maximize company sales/specification potential.
  • Investigates and reports on market trends, competitor activity, etc.
  • Communicates and coordinates activities with their regional counterparts when applicable
  • Drive Plan through Account/Project Development through all levels
  • Use of CRM as key communication tool
  • Documents all activity in CRM through the account /project screens
  • Develops a complete understanding of:
  • Product features/benefits, account hierarchy, market and product applications and technical language/wording
  • Specifications as an industry document, its content and language
  • Competitive products and positioning

 

 

Requirements: 

  •  Experience working with Product, Engineering, and Program Management teams to build/deliver a customer support strategy.
  • Experience with problem resolution, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IoT and smart home hardware/software devices.
  • Experience contributing to quality discussions around technology decisions, and strategy related to product support.
  • Experience presenting at all levels across multiple business units and an understanding of networking connectivity concepts and technology (i.e., HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP)
  • Ability to partner with Engineering and Product teams to represent customer pain points, create solutions for existing issues, and build features.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional image.
  • Willing to travel overnight.
  • Ideally located near a major metropolitan area with easy access to airport.
  • Team player.
  • Competitive, flexible, and resilient by nature.
  • Previous sales experience is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, confident.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Cross-functional communication is critical


Compensation:

Base + Commission (Dependent on Experience)
