Position Title: Research Associate, Fermentation


Pay rate: $31-37/hour.

Overview

The Research Associate will support fermentation experiments.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct essential microbial culture and centrifugation techniques.
  • Undertake routine sampling, pH analysis, and extractions for subsequent analyses, meticulously documenting and collecting data.
  • Prepare media for microbial culture and assist with centrifugation tasks.
  • Clean and autoclave laboratory glassware.
  • Manage inventory levels for supplies and consumables.
  • Uphold a clean and organized lab environment.


Qualifications

  • A GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Fermentation, Molecular Biology, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting, with a solid understanding of molecular biology techniques.
  • Preferred Skills, Qualifications, or Technical Proficiencies:
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques, fermentation or cell culture processes, and spectrophotometric assays.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, with a strong capacity for effective collaboration with colleagues.
  • Competency in using computer software, including the MS Office Suite and Zoom video conferencing tools.
