Technology Product Manager

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise, and manage operational technology/information technology for the utility or City.
  • Coordinate the planning, coordination, direction, design, build, configuration, maintenance, enhancement, and decommissioning of systems and technology.
  • Oversee physical and cyber security risk management programs and compliance standards.
  • Utility-specific critical infrastructure systems such as CIS, AMI, geospatial technology, and SCADA systems; wide area, wireless, and fiber optic network systems; business applications, such as, but not limited to ERP, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Application Programming Interface (API), and web services.
  • Act as a trusted business partner and advisor to other City departments and business units.
  • Drive the resolution of issues regarding applications, technology services, communications networks, control systems, computer systems, and/or data storage systems.
  • Direct enterprise data architecture, integration, and data pipeline strategy.
  • Drive lifecycle management of digital products and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards applicable to the operation of a modern utility and City.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, finance, business management, or a related field.
  • Seven years of professional experience in technology and cyber security management.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems, including at least three years at a supervisory level.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Design Thinking, and Agile project/program management methodologies.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize long-term business goals and develop actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, finance, business management, or a closely related field.

Desired Certifications: PMP, CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA, SPC, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Design Thinking, Agile methodologies.
