POSITION SUMMARY
The Structure Literacy Teacher is a dedicated, compassionate, energetic professional who delivers a comprehensive structured literacy program to students with language-based learning differences in grades 1-8.
- Structured Literacy teachers deliver explicit, multisensory, systematic, cumulative, prescriptive, and diagnostic instruction utilizing either the Orton-Gillingham Approach or The Wilson Reading System Curriculum.
- Maintain a high level of reading program fidelity that includes lesson planning, program implementation, progress monitoring, and assessment.
- Maintain student growth and performance records by collecting and analyzing student data
- Utilize formative and summative data to plan and adjust instruction.
- Routinely communicate progress to the student's academic team, including classroom teachers, content area teachers, speech & language pathologists, occupational therapists, and the Dean of the division.
