We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Assistant to become a new-member of our dedicated team The Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician and/or mid-level provider.


Minimum Experience: 2-3 years


Job Type: Full-Time (Monday-Thursday: 7:45am -- 5:30pm) (Friday: 7:45am -- 1pm)


Pay: Based on Experience ($15.00 - $19.00 per hour)


Expected Hours: 40 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Room patients, take and document vital signs, and ensure their comfort and preparation for their examination or treatment.
  • Collection and maintenance of accurate charting, patients notes, assessments, intervention and follow-up.
  • Assist provider with medical exam and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to patient correspondence (i.e. phone messages, medication refills and ancillary test results in a timely and efficient manner.)
  • Obtaining authorizations for advanced imaging.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing.
  • Prepare examination rooms, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adequate supply levels.
  • Handle surgical tools and equipment with care, following proper sterilization protocols.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records.
  • Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Adhere to infection control, universal precautions, and use of personal protective equipment as needed for all patient care procedures, maintenance of equipment, and disposal of waste.
  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical team.
  • Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions regarding surgery. Helps facilitate the scheduling of surgeries and procedures with the ASC.


Qualifications:

  • Completion of a medical assistant training program and certificate.
  • Exceptional communication and human relation skills.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work with people regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disease state.
  • Ability to maintain a compassionate and friendly disposition with all patients and staff members.
  • Experience with ICD-10 codes and EMR system.
