Don Kennedy Roofing Company, two-time National Roofing Contractor of the Year, is looking for new additions to our team for the position of Sales Associate. This role is responsible for evaluating roofing systems and components to determine the best solution for customers, including repairs, modifications, or replacements to resolve issues with customers’ roofing systems. No roofing experience is required. We believe in training and educating the right candidate on the industry and products.


This position is an in-person role in our office in downtown Nashville. Our business hours are 7:30-4:00, but this role may require hours outside of this time frame. This role has a salary plus commission pay structure with no cap on commission.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of sales experience, 2+ years of field or construction related sales experience is preferred.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in related field is preferred
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a background check and drug test
  • Must have a valid drivers license


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic roofing knowledge is preferred, but not required. We will gladly train and educate the right candidate on the industry, assembly, and roofing products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and various other programs within our company
  • Basic office skills such as filing and scanning documents
  • Experience using a CRM program
  • Ability to set ladder and climb roofs
  • Ability to perform roof inspections and provide accurate estimates
  • Ability to be trained
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate problems
  • Ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality that demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness


Essential Responsibilities and Functions:

  • Prospect for new opportunities and close sales
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, including post-sale relations.
  • Plan and execute from the sales process to close.
  • Anticipate customer needs and promote all services and point-of-sale service contracts.
  • Provide reporting, communications and documentation related to sales.
  • Assist in other areas of the company as needed
  • Present yourself in a professional manner, a good listener and communicator with customers, vendors, & staff
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality in compliance with company policies
  • Effective time management & self-accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism
