Graphic Designer

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with a strong background in graphic design for user manuals and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in technical writing with creative design skills to produce high-quality user manuals, service literature, operator manuals, and installation guides. Candidates should be prepared to submit at least three design samples or a portfolio for consideration.


This role follows a hybrid work model, with the initial three months fully onsite in Portland, Oregon.


Graphic Designer Responsibilities

  • Create and Design Documentation: Develop and edit comprehensive technical documentation, emphasizing user manuals and service guides with a focus on graphic design.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with technical teams to gather accurate data, drawings, and specifications for documentation.
  • Graphic Design Integration: Design layouts and visuals using Adobe Suite to enhance the usability and clarity of technical materials.
  • Technical Research: Research, organize, and present complex technical data in a clear and accessible format.
  • Illustrations and Artwork: Create technical illustrations and artwork as needed to support documentation.
  • Maintain Brand Standards: Ensure all materials align with corporate identity and design standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and approve technical content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and visual appeal.
  • Workflow Digitization: Assist in digitizing workflows and improving documentation processes.
  • Digital Content Updates: Update technical content for the company website and other digital assets as required.


Graphic Designer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Graphic Design, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years creating technical support documentation with significant graphic design responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) is required.
  • Solid mechanical or technical aptitude with basic knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, programmable controllers, and engineering drawings/documentation.


Preferred Skills:

  • SolidEdge or equivalent solid modeling/drafting experience.
  • Knowledge of website and database integration; automation experience is a plus.
  • Materials handling industry experience.


Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional editing, proofreading, and time-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
