About the Company: Our client is a company pioneering Digital Imaging Radar technology with innovation stemming from research funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and DARPA. The team is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of technology by offering the industry’s first digital radar System-on-Module (SoM) based on AMD/Xilinx RFSoC.


Position Overview: The FPGA Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of FPGA-based systems using RFSoC. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with FPGA development tools, particularly Vivado, Vitis, and PetaLinux, and will play a critical role in integrating and optimizing FPGA designs in advanced system development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and test FPGA-based systems on RFSoC
  • Develop and optimize digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for FPGA implementation
  • Utilize Vivado for FPGA design, synthesis, and timing analysis
  • Employ Vitis for software development and hardware-software co-design
  • Integrate and manage embedded Linux systems using PetaLinux
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of FPGA designs
  • Conduct simulations and debugging to validate FPGA functionality and performance
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of FPGA designs and development processes
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a focus on signal processing
  • Proven experience in FPGA design and development, specifically with RFSoC
  • Proficiency in HDL languages such as VHDL or Verilog
  • Extensive experience with Xilinx Vivado Design Suite
  • Skilled in using Vitis for software and hardware development
  • Proficient in PetaLinux for embedded Linux development on FPGA platforms
  • Strong understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) and RF systems
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-level synthesis (HLS) tools
  • Background in wireless communication systems (OFDM/CDMA) or radar signal processing
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink for system modeling and simulation
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages like Python or C/C++
