Financial Advisor Roles
The Financial Advisor serves as their clients’ primary financial planner and coach. Working on a team of three to six advisor trainees, the Financial Advisor develops and communicates clients’ financial plans. They are tasked with forming deep relationships with their clients and are responsible for their assigned clients’ ongoing advisory experience and results. Financial Advisors also help mentor and develop junior members of their team.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading clients through the stages of Rhotopia’s Financial Planning process
- Independently leading client meetings by developing and communicating planning results, advice, and recommendations
- Serving as the primary financial advisor for clients
- Managing ongoing client relationships by providing advice, coaching, and inspiration
- Actively source for leads and new business
- Mentoring, training, and developing junior members of their advisory team
- Serving as Rhotopia’s subject matter expert for their designated planning discipline
The Financial Advisor often assist Senior Financial Advisors with pre-sales opportunities. They are mentored by the Senior Financial Advisor on their team.

Compensation
Typical starting compensation for this position is $150-200K.
As a team, we strive to grow organically and promote from within. Successful Financial Advisors are considered for partnership in the firm and typically advance to the Senior Financial Advisor role in five to eight years.
They will be expected to obtain the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation to progress to a Senior Financial Advisor.
Experience and Licensure
Financial Advisors typically have 2-5 years of related experience. Additionally, all Financial Advisors are required to have the following:
- Series 65
- Life and Health Insurance License
