Role Description

Burgess Steel is seeking structural steel and/or miscellaneous iron detailers. This is a full-time on-site role for a Steel Detailer at Burgess Steel. As a Steel Detailer, you will be responsible for producing detailed drawings and models for structural steel fabrication. Your day-to-day tasks will include interpreting architectural and engineering plans, collaborating with project managers and engineers, and ensuring accurate and precise detailing. You will play a critical role in the success of our projects by providing accurate instructions to the fabrication team.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD. Tekla and SDS2 software a plus.
  • Will be responsible for producing Erection Plans and Shop Detail Drawings
  • Strong understanding of structural steel components and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and precise drawings
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes related to steel fabrication
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project managers and engineers
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in civil or structural engineering is a plus
  • Prior experience as a Steel Detailer or in a similar role is a plus
