We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a hospital in the west central Piedmont region of Georgia.

  • Permanent, full-time opportunity
  • Onsite in Thomaston, GA


The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for day-to-day operations of the hospital and all related

entities, and the long-term vision and strategy of the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Must have a Master's level degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years of hospital CEO experience in a comparable organization, with documented organizational success.
  • Strong PPS experience preferred and recommended
  • Must have a strong, successful, and verifiable track record of accomplishing the duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Must also have a history of successful community visibility and leadership.
  • Fellowship status in the American College of Healthcare Executives is preferred.


Essential duties and responsibilities of the CEO include:

Strategic Leadership

The CEO will work with the Board of Trustees, senior leadership team, medical staff leadership, HealthTech leadership, and all hospital employees to develop a vision and implement an operational plan for the hospital.

Financial Responsibility

The CEO will work closely with the CFO and the Board Finance Committee to provide financial leadership and support the financial management and financial success of all entities within the hospital.

People Management

By working closely through the senior leadership team and department leaders, the CEO will be a visible leader who will motivate and challenge hospital employees, will delegate appropriately, will hold all employees accountable, will communicate effectively and will reward positive contributions. The CEO will schedule, lead or facilitate meetings, ensuring that the hospital applies clear and consistent performance standards and handles performance problems decisively. He/She will promote a work environment that reflects a positive atmosphere, high employee satisfaction, and competence.

Governing Board/Community Relations

With assistance from the hospital’s senior leadership team, the CEO will be responsive to the Board of Trustees. This person must develop positive and productive working relationships with the Board by providing outstanding leadership, being responsive to Board inquiries and communicating in an effective manner. Accountability In achieving organizational goals and objectives as established by the Board Is essential for the CEO's success. Just as it is crucial to build a solid relationship with the Hospital Board, the CEO is also required to rapidly and effectively forge relationships with various community and county leaders in the hospital's service area

Physician Relations

The CEO must develop positive working relationships with all members of the medical staff including the Medical Executive Committee, independent physicians, employed physicians and contracted physicians. This person will routinely meet with physicians individually and at appropriate committee meetings and must develop an understanding of their needs and blend those with the strategic direction of the hospital.

Communication

It is essential for the CEO to define and articulate clear expectations, maintain consistent and open lines of communication, and showcase strong listening skills with every member of the hospital community.

Customer Service

The CEO must understand and value the impact of outstanding customer service and the positive impact that has been consistently achieved at the hospital over a long period of time.

Corporate Responsibilities

The CEO must be knowledgeable concerning the specific details of the various responsibilities set forth in the management agreement between HealthTech and the hospital.
