We are looking for a skilled ISP Design Engineer to support the setup and optimization of ISP networks for multiple POP sites (small-scale data centers) in Virginia. This role will primarily focus on designing and implementing ISP fiber optic networks, ensuring high-quality infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in fiber optic networks, with an emphasis on data center connectivity and ISP fiber networks. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, but the priority is on fiber optic network experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fiber Optic Network Design & Implementation :
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of ISP fiber optic networks for new and existing POP sites.
  • Collaborate with the team to design robust fiber optic layouts that meet the requirements of POP sites and ensure efficient network performance.
  • Focus on ISP fiber networks, working with fiber optic connections that link data centers to global internet backbones and other POP sites.
  • Assess and optimize fiber routes, connections, and equipment within the data center environment to ensure seamless network connectivity.
  • Conduct fiber optic assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Data Center and Fiber Network Knowledge :
  • Apply your expertise in data center operations and fiber optic infrastructure to ensure designs align with data center requirements.
  • Utilize knowledge of both ISP and OSP (Outside Plant) fiber networks to inform design, with a focus on ISP networks for this specific project.
  • Assist in understanding and designing the internal fiber optic network layout inside the data centers, considering equipment racks, fiber trays, and other critical elements.
  • AutoCAD Drawing & Design:
  • Work in AutoCAD to create detailed network diagrams, layouts, and configurations based on fiber optic network design requirements.
  • Collaborate with the AutoCAD team to ensure accuracy in fiber optic network placement and integration within POP sites and data centers.
  • Interpret and modify AutoCAD designs to reflect updated network requirements and project goals.
