Aware, a global leader in biometrics software products, solutions, and services, is seeking a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Aware Team. The Lead QA Engineer will have expertise in manual and automated software testing, and a knowledge of programming.  In this role, you will have knowledge of a large variety of software environments including client and server applications on multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, and iOS).  Responsibilities include a team-based approach to writing software product engineering specifications, designing, implementing, and assurance and documentation to support the specifications.  The individual will be a significant contributor in a small team of software engineers, focused on delivering quality software in short time-cycles as well as managing other quality assurance engineers. 


Essential Job Functions 

  • Perform new product quality assurance and existing product quality assurance in support of the company’s technology roadmap. 
  • Perform quality assurance on change requests in support of new customer projects to help them succeed with their project goals. 
  • Work with our Sales and Customer Support departments to provide support to our customers. 
  • Support sales with presales opportunities. 
  • Review design documentation for new customer projects and existing product sustainment. 
  • Provide mentorship to quality assurance engineer team members. 
  • Create documentation (i.e. Test Plans and Test Cases) in support of the above responsibilities. 
  • Create quality assurance effort estimates for new customers projects, change requests, and new product development. 
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a team to achieve the above roles and responsibilities. 

 

Note: In addition to the Essential Functions, also performs similar work-related duties as assigned. 


Qualifications and Experience 

  • Expertise with Software Quality Assurance 
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player 
  • Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience 
  • Expertise performing manual software testing 
  • Some software programming experience 
  • Hardware setup and configuration 
  • Experience writing automated software tests 
  • Experience with Windows and Linux 
  • Experience with mobile device testing 
  • Biometrics (Finger, Face, Iris, Voice) a plus 
  • Experience mentoring QA team members
  • Industry leading customer care skills
