Alexium, Inc (www.alexiuminternational.com) is a late-stage start-up that provides engineering solutions for thermal management that enhance comfort and protection. As a small, growth-oriented company, we are seeking to hire a Business Analyst who will play a high-visibility role within the organization. This multifaceted position will support various departments, with a primary focus on sales database management and product cost analysis to help drive profitability and develop pricing strategies.

 

The position is located at our headquarters in Greer, SC. Qualified candidates must be within easy commuting distance (this is not a work-from-home opportunity). We offer an attractive compensation package including eligibility for cash bonuses and stock appreciation rights, a matching 401(k) plan, and insurance programs.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance

• Monitors product costs and variances to control inventories and cost

• Develops cost models for new products in conjunction with operations and technical departments to help drive pricing strategies

• Performs inventory tracking and reconciliation with toll manufacturers to ensure proper valuation and accuracy of inventories

• Analyzes and reports on product costs and gross margin trends, identifying opportunities to maximize profitability

• Prepares and analyzes monthly general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring the adequacy of appropriate supporting documentation

• Performs monthly and yearly closing responsibilities and prepare documentation for annual audits and mid-year reviews by providing necessary cost-related documentation and explanations

• Identifies, proposes and implements process and workflow improvements, including improvements in internal controls


Business and Administration Support

• Builds and manages databases to support business and operational activity

• Manages and monitors contract compliance, NDAs and agreements with third parties

• Organizes and manages digital assets to support business and operational activity, including marketing materials, trademarks, etc.

• Manages computer asset tracking and purchases

• Assists with preparing presentations


QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of work experience, including cost accounting utilizing an ERP system and knowledge of database management

• Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Demonstrate advanced skills and knowledge of Excel and Power BI

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow with a high degree of detail

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, financial modeling, and data analysis

• Experience with financial reporting tools and MS PowerPoint is a plus

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively while working independently and as a member of a team

• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment

• CPA, CMGA and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are desired
