Department: Compliance/Operations
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Equipment Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with owner-operators to ensure all equipment complies with federal, state, and local regulations while meeting company expectations. This position requires strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills to maintain compliance standards and support our operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with owner-operators to ensure equipment (tractors and trailers) adheres to compliance standards.
- Document, review, and enforce compliance through regular communication and data entry in proprietary systems.
- Provide resolutions for equipment and inspection facility issues via phone and email.
- Notify owner-operators of random drug and alcohol testing as per federal guidelines.
- Review, interpret, and update Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections and requirements.
- Analyze and update tractor and trailer maintenance reports, federal periodic inspections, and purchase orders.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Prepare routine reports and correspondence with clarity and accuracy.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and state or local requirements through effective communication with contracted drivers.
- File, scan, index, and audit documents to maintain accurate records.
- Counsel owner-operators regarding compliance matters or terminate contracts according to established procedures.
